Its the time of the year in Ireland when we start experiencing a few glorious early summer days. The temperature dial nudges towards 20C, the sky is blue with a whisper of clouds & the air is still for hours on end. This triggers a memory of the smell of smoke & heat from cooking over an outdoor grill or BBQ on a lazy summer evening. The smell of smoke from cooking is wired into the ancestral part of our brain, it makes us feel good.

Smoked Sea Salt & Aleppo Pepper - 62% Ecuador

Our bitter sweet dark chocolate is enveloped in Oriel smoked sea salt & Aleppo pepper. Oriel use 90 year old Nicaraguan oak kegs from teeling Irish whiskey to create this powerhouse of flavour. Aleppo pepper also know as halaby biber or pul biber, is tangy, fruity and slightly spicy with an undertone of cumin.

Tasting Board Recommendation

Add a grating of your bar to a pot of chili & enjoy with a bottle of medium to full bodied red wine in the evening sunshine. Complete the experience by using the rest of the bar as a topping for vanilla bean ice cream
