Delicious on fresh fruit, on pancakes, or swirled into overnight oats, but best simply spread on toast and finished with a big pinch of flaky sea salt.
Ingredients
70g Blanched whole hazelnuts
-
115g dark chocolate
25g sugar of your choice (granulated, honey, maple syrup)
150ml whole milk or milk alternative
A smidgen of vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Directions
Toast your hazelnuts. Heat the oven to 180C and spread out the nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden, allow to cool.
Use a strong blender or nutribullet to grind the hazelnuts into a paste. This could take 10 mins.
Heat the dark chocolate until melted.
Heat the milk and sugar in a pan to a simmer.
Add the melted dark chocolate to the hazelnut paste.
Add the warm milk, a smidgen of vanilla and a pinch of Irish Sea Salt.
Chill until set.
Recipe Note
How to melt chocolate
Chocolate is best melted in a heatproof bowl set over, but not touching a pan of simmering water, or in the microwave.
