Warm up on a cold evening with this boozy Irish hot chocolate, perfect for celebrating St. Patrick's weekend. The creamy hot chocolate is spiked with whiskey and topped with decadent whipped cream and Irish cream liqueur for an indulgent treat.
Note. There are a number of artisan Irish cream liqueurs available. Our favourite to use for this recipe is Five Farms produced in Co Cork.
Ingredients

60g Bean and Goose Classic Hot Chocolate
240g milk
60g of Irish whiskey
200g cream
2 tbsp Irish cream liqueur
1 tbsp sugar
Hot chocolate flakes for topping
Directions
Prepare the whipped cream. Put the cream, sugar and Irish cream liqueur into a bowl or stand mixer and whisk until stiff peaks form.
In a saucepan, heat the hot chocolate and milk until hot but not boiling.
Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute.
Stir in the alcohol until well combined.
Pour the whiskey chocolate hot chocolate into mugs.
Top with generous swirls of Irish cream liquer whipped cream and extra flakes of hot chocolate.
Enjoy.
Recipe Note
This recipe is also perfect for making in our Dualit hot chocolate makers, available to purchase in our online store. For each serving add 30g of hot chocolate and 120g of milk to your hot chocolate maker and press play. Add 30g of alcohol into a mug. When the hot chocolate is ready pour it over the alcohol and stir until combined. Top with whipped cream and extra hot chocolate flakes.
